Not only will we build you a site custom tailored to your business needs, we will also train you on how to maintain your website using a content management system (aka CMS). Content management systems make it easy for you to administer and update site content, thus reducing your dependence on outside contractors and maximizing your return on investment. Here is a perfect example of a website with a content management system.
Conveyed Concepts is a web design studio located in Santa Cruz California that caters to small and mid-sized businesses. We thrive on helping businesses meet their strategic goals through custom web design, web application development, and consulting for the modern Internet. We work closely with our clients to develop simple, elegant projects that succeed on the web.
Our primary goal at Conveyed Concepts is to develop web sites that function as well as they look. By implementing clean, elegant, and user-friendly designs backed by efficient, sound coding, Conveyed Concepts will propel your company’s web presence and help bolster your technological reputation.
In today’s economy it’s important to seek more bang for the buck. Luckily, Conveyed Concepts is affordable and we work with you to come up with the best solution to fit your needs and your budget. Unlike most web design companies that will just build you a website, take your money, and say "good luck", Conveyed Concepts provides full service to our clients. This means we build, maintain, host and market your website for you. Of course, we also include setting up your domain name and email accounts.
Hello, my name is Ryan Milano and I started Conveyed Concepts because I wanted to make the web development process as straight-forward, economical, and (call me crazy) enjoyable as possible for smaller companies that recognize the profound impact a quality website can have for their business. I am sure many of you have heard that developing a website can be a horrible, boring, or perhaps even an “I hate computers” process, but it is my personal mission to change all of those negative perceptions. If you can turn a computer on, I can build you a website that not only looks great, but also allows you easily manage site content and updates. If, however, you decide you would feel more comfortable leaving it to a professional, don’t worry I am more than happy to do it for you.
One of the great things about working with me is that I communicate with you directly. Larger design studios have an annoying tendency to pawn you off to several other employees, often resulting in your needs getting left on the back burner. It’s always nice when you can go directly to the source to get things done right the first time. It is my goal as a professional to ensure client satisfaction, so I appreciate when my clients give me their personal feedback. By maintaining open two-way communication, we can deliver websites that reflect exactly what you were going for.
Over the years I have constructed over 30 websites. I have been working as a professional web designer for over four years now, and have developed a solid knowledge base around development and design principles. I am confident that if we have solid trust based relationship we will knock your project out of the park.
Well, that’s enough about me. Let’s hear about your project already! Don’t hesitate to call or shoot me an e-mail

The process starts by working with you to identify how your company could benefit from a Conveyed Concepts web site. Our initial goal is to work with you to try to develop a general look and feel for your site. Often times our clients already have a direction that they wish to pursue and may even have other websites they’d like us to use as a reference. Occasionally our inspiration comes from other sources; one time a client wanted us to taste their food and experience their world famous BBQ sauce to help motivate their site’s design.
After we have determined your company’s primary goals and analyzed who your target audience is going to be, we will write up a design proposal which details the project time line and price break-down. This proposal is of course free of charge. We are primarily a time and materials shop that estimates costs based on hourly rates, but occasionally we will bid our projects at a flat rate if so desired.
How do we get started all ready? After you have approved and signed the proposal, you will be required to pay 1/3 of the estimated cost as a deposit before we start with design work. The remaining 2/3 is due once we have agreed on a design. Once this is paid, we will move on to the production phase. During the production phase, we’ll code your site and install whichever applications are needed. Of course the amount of time needed to complete the build will depend on the scope of your project (which will have been outlined in the initial proposal).
After we have published and thoroughly tested your website, we will meet with you to go over all of the different aspects of your new website and to make sure you are happy with the finished product. Our goal here is to make sure that everything is working and looking the way you want it to. If your project includes a web application (such as a content manager, blogging software, shopping cart, etc.), we will be more than happy to train you on how to use it, so that you can make the most out of your new website.
From the start of the project to the end, Ryan was always available and his advice was always spot on. He listened and understood our objectives and desires. He also took the time to train us on how to maintain the content of our site on our own. The difference between our older site and the one built by Conveyed Concepts is like day and night. Intuitive, simple, easy to navigate and great looking. We also get a lot of great feedback from our members.
It was a great pleasure working with Ryan Milano. He promised me that my web site would be better than the competitions' and our campaign site truly dominated. Thanks Ryan!
Our 50 year old construction company decided that we needed a presence in the digital market place. We were introduced to Ryan Milano at Conveyed Concepts. Ryan made sure that all of our needs online were going to be met. His expertise in elegant web design coupled with solid programming knowledge assisted our company to forge ahead of the competition and ensure our place in the digital market place.
If Wikipedia had a category for Resourceful, Creative, and Reliable Web Developer, Ryan would define it. I’ve worked with him for several years now on web design and development, and watched his work grow from GOOD to WOW so fast that I’m a little worried he will soon render me obsolete! He is a pleasure to work with. Hire him.
Ryan Milano did an excellent job on developing our website. We are a non-profit agency that has been established for 10 years. We have had more trouble sustaining a reliable website person to handle our needs. First of all as a non-profit, we are always trying to save money and have had at least four different websites with different people volunteering their time to create them. The problem is then we would lose track of them and not be able to continue with updates. Our Board decided we needed to hire someone to do the website and maintain it, but the costs varied considerably.
Ryan had a good vision for what we wanted and needed. He was the one pushing us along to continue with the project. His follow through was excellent, his prices are reasonable, and we are always able to reach him for updates. I would highly recommend him to fulfill any of the needs for your organization.
